Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications informs state administration bodies, local government units and Montenegrin website owners that, from April 21 2015 onwards, Google will be using new algorithm for content ranking. The ranking will be changed for the websites without adequate mobile version. Google’s aim is to facilitate the access to web sites by encouraging their optimization for mobile devices users.

Having in mind that more than 1.5 billion users worldwide uses mobile Internet, with about 80% Internet users via smart phones, Google offers a tool which can test whether the website is “Mobile-Friendly” ” (https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/, where it is necessary to insert a link of the website you wish to test in the specific field). After the designated deadline for the adjustment of websites to the new algorithm, Google will render less visible all the websites that didn’t pass “Mobile-Friendly” test, and set a better position for the ones that have successfully passed the test.

Google continuously updates its algorithms in order to satisfy the users’ needs, so the users get the optimal view of the content they search, regardless of the device.
Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications calls for adaptation of all the websites, and particularly those of commercial-promotional character, to the mobile devices, in order for the websites’ position not to be lost or undermined.
